Well into her studies at the age of 25, Kalyn Donos left her family abruptly to join a small band of rebel Pau’an who were unhappy with the arrangement still in place with the Utai people sharing their planet. Having been through an aggressive formal education program in the usual Pau’an societal standards (politics and the like), Kalyn had no difficulty fitting in immediately with the Pau’an leadership of this organization.
While this rebel group was more about talk and less about action, Kalyn was looking for something a bit more exciting when she met a Bothan in a cantina delivering a code cylinder to someone on her home world. Using her natural talents for persuasion and conversation, Kalyn found the Bothan was part of a much larger group working to infiltrate the Senate, primarily for financial gain. Having already identified this as something she felt she wanted to do with her life, Kalyn became quite close with Taleg Har’lye, eventually gaining his trust and access to others in his organization.
Kalyn spent the next many years of her life working with various individuals attempting to gain favor in the Senate and with others in positions of power. Some of these encounters were for Taleg and his struggle, others were ocassions that Kalyn arranged for herself. While she honed her communication skills, Kalyn became handy with a blaster and took an interest in medical care following the death of Taleg. Despite his age at the time of his death, Kalyn blames herself for Taleg’s demise as it seemed to her that it was the result of a deal gone bad; a deal she had arranged. Had she known more about proper administration of medicine, Kalyn believes she could have saved her long time friend.
On the one hundredth anniversary of the death of Taleg, Kalyn began making arrangements for a change of life for herself. She has since severed contact with a few of the “less scrupulous” people she came to know and has again been communicating with her family, although the relationship is understandably strained.
